Kaylin Smoes Becomes Women's Soccer's First Signee

Kuyper College Women's Soccer has signed their first signee in program history in Kaylin Smoes, a 5'6 defender out of Reed City, Michigan. Kuyper College is bringing Women's Soccer to campus in the fall of 2025, and it will be the inaugural season for Women's Soccer at Kuyper College. Kaylin, the daughter of Sarah and Don Smoes, is a senior at Reed City High School.

Kaylin is coming off of an excellent junior season, as she was named a CSAA All-Conference player. Smoes has been a varsity player for her entire career at Reed City, and is looking to help lead her team to a successful season in her senior campaign this spring. Smoes was named a Team Captain for her junior season, as well as her upcoming senior season with the Coyotes.

In addition to thriving on the pitch, Smoes thrives in the classroom as well. She has a 4.0 GPA and was named to the Academic Dream Team. Smoes intends to study Social Work at Kuyper.

Kaylin is excited about the opportunity of joining Kuyper's Women's Soccer program. When asked what makes her most excited about joining the Women's Soccer program at Kuyper, she said, "to be a part of something new and be able to continue playing the sport that I love."

Head Coach Mike Riemersma is thrilled to add Kaylin to the program. When asked about signing Kayling, Coach Riemersma said, "I am really excited to welcome Kaylin to our new women's soccer family at Kuyper. I am excited to see her work hard to help us build this program. She is a great individual and will be a great fit for what we are trying to build here."

Kaylin is the first recruit of many to come for the Kuyper College Women's Soccer program. Her signing is a monumental one for the program. Kuyper College Women's Soccer will play their first match in program in history in September.

Congratulations to Kaylin Smoes on signing on to become a Kuyper Cougar!
