The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team lost a back and forth game on Friday to Campbellsville University Harrodsburg. Campbellsville Harrodsburg is a member of the NCCAA II Mideast Region. Campbellsville Harrodsburg has been an impressive program in the NCCAA, as they won the 2022 NCCAA II National Championship.Â
Kuyper fell to the Pioneers by a score of 70-74. The game was back and forth much of the night, with the lead never reaching double digits for either team. The Pioneers were able to extend the lead late in the game behind a couple of clutch threes.Â
Kuyper was led in scoring on the evening by
Damion Cochran, who had 23 points.
Danyel Bibbs added 18-5-4 to the Cougars' effort. The Cougars struggled a bit on the offensive end tonight, as they shot 40.3% from the field and 28.6% from three. The Cougars had only 9 turnovers on the evening, so they were able to handle the Pioneers' full court pressure pretty well.
Kuyper moves to 2-2 on the season (1-1 NCCAA II). They return to action on Tuesday with an exhibition across the state at Saginaw Valley State University.Â
