The Kuyper College Developmental - Black team won a tight one on Friday night at home over Dayspring Bible College. The final score was 68-67. This was a rematch between Dayspring and Kuyper, so it was great for the Cougars to secure the win.Â
Kuyper ran out to an early double-digit lead, but the Eagles did not go away. Dayspring narrowed the lead in the first half, and the game was back and forth throughout. There was countless lead changes throughout the evening. Down the stretch of the game, Dayspring was up 3 points with about 3 minutes away.
Dior Partee hit a huge three to tie the game, and Kuyper ended up closing out the game with a go-ahead bucket in the final minute from
Gregory Thomas III. To close out the game,
Zamire Jackson and
Kevin Tobe caused a stop on the Eagles at the buzzer to secure the win.Â
Ashtyn Simerson led the Cougars with 16 points and 4 made threes.
Kevin Tobe finished with a near double-double in 14 points and 9 rebounds.
Dior Partee finished with 13 points.
Gregory Thomas III and
Austin Kohlman each added 8 for the Cougars.Â
The Cougars improve to 3-10 on the season. They take on the Eagles from Dayspring Bible College again on Saturday at 1:00pm ET at home again.Â
