The Kuyper College Women's Basketball team defeated the Crimson Wave of Calumet College of St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon. This win capped off an exciting and eventful Homecoming weekend at Kuyper College. The Cougars defeated the Crimson Wave by a final score of 62-56. This win marks the first win of the year for the Cougars, as well as Head Coach
Shonett Davis' first career win as a collegiate Head Coach.Â
The game was a back-and-forth game throughout. Kuyper led 18-17 at the end of the first quarter, after Calumet jumped out to an early lead. At halftime, Kuyper extended their lead to 6. They were able to make enough plays down the stretch to close out the game and earn their first win of the year.Â
Couper Agema led Kuyper with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.
Aniya Fisher led the Cougars in scoring with 13 points.
Laia Vidaller also reached double-figures, finishing with 11 points.Â
Kuyper moves to 1-2 on the year with the win, and they will travel to Indiana University Columbus on Thursday for their next game. The game will begin at 5:00pm.Â
