The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team got in the winning column on Tuesday night, as they defeated NAIA-opponent Siena Heights. The Cougars defeated the Saints by a final score of 86-80. Kuyper entered the game on a 4-game losing streak, but they snapped that streak with tonight's win.Â
Kuyper played a much better brand of basketball tonight, leading to the win. The Cougars took better care of the ball, made their free throws, and played excellent team defense. The Cougars shot just under 50% from the field on the game, while limiting the Saints to just 43.5% from the field. Additionally, Kuyper shot 22/24 (91.7%) from the free throw line. Kuyper ended the half up 12, and weathered a couple runs from Siena Heights in the second half to close out the game.Â
Freshman
Sam Dillard led the Cougars in scoring again, as he finished with 16 points. He shot a perfect 9/9 from the free throw line.
Herman Brown added 13 points for Kupyer.
Jacob May Damion Cochran,
Danyel Bibbs, and
Latrell Jennings all reached double-figures in scoring on the night.
Jacob May led the Cougars in rebounding with 7, and
Danyel Bibbs and
Sam Dillard each tallied a team-high 6 assists.Â
Kuyper moves to 1-4 with the much-needed win. The Cougars will travel to NCAA II Northwood University on Wednesday evening for an Exhibition game.Â
