The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team lost at home to Spring Arbor University on Tuesday night by a score of 81-67. Spring Arbor came into this one with an impressive 7-1 record, and Kuyper was coming off of a home win over Andrews University on Monday evening.Â
Tonight's game was competitive throughout, but Spring Arbor carried a lead throughout most of the night. Kuyper was able to put together enough runs to keep the game within striking distance, but they were never able to get the lead late. Kuyper cut the lead to 5 towards the middle of the 2nd half, but Spring Arbor countered with a run of their own to make their lead a bit more comfortable. Spring Arbor went on to win by 14.Â
Kuyper played a relatively clean game, but they just could not find enough offensive firepower to win the game. Kuyper finished with just 10 turnovers on the night, but they were out-rebounded 41-30, and that was a difference in the game. Kuyper let up 14 offesive rebounds to Spring Arbor's impressive front-court.Â
Kuyper was led by
Danyel Bibbs, who finished with an all-around game of 17 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals.
Sam Dillard was the only other Kuyper player in double-digits, as he scored 12 points.
Jacob May grabbed a team-high 6 rebounds.
Elisha Searcy,
Jacob May, and
Herman Brown all scored 9 points for Kuyper.Â
Kuyper moves to 3-7 on the year, and they will have a few days off for Thanksgiving Break. Kuyper will travel across town to Davenport University on Monday, December 2nd, for an exhibition game with the Wildcats.Â
