Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Loses 1-0 in Regional Championship

The Kuyper College Men's Soccer team lost to Grace Christian University on Saturday afternoon in the NCCAA II Midwest Regional Championship game. The final score was 1-0, with the lone goal of the game being scored by Grace in the 8th minute of the match. This loss marks the end of Kuyper's season. Despite the loss, the Cougars had a very impressive season in the return of soccer to Kuyper College. This was Kuyper's first season having soccer since 2015. The Cougars finished this season 7-9-1, and they were on a five-match win streak heading into today's Regional Championship.

In today's match, Grace Christian got early momentum off their goal, and Kuyper was never able to tie the match. Grace Christian's stifling defense caused issues for Kuyper's offensive attack, as the Cougars finished with only 3 shots on goal.

Grace Christian will advance to the NCCAA II National Tournament after winning the Regional Championship. The Cougars, led by Head Coach Mike Colago, were just one win away from a National Tournament berth.

The Kuyper Men's Soccer program has great momentum heading into the offseason, as they had a successful season where they cracked the National Top 10 rankings, earned the #1 seed for the Regional Tournamnet, made the Regional Championship, and won 5 matches in a row at one point in the season.
