The Kuyper College Women's Basketball team defeated Emmaus Bible College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 71-53. The Cougars and the Eagles are both members of the NCCAA II Midwest Region, so this game had Regional implications.Â
The Cougars got out to an 18-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Emmaus and the Cougars played the following three quarters pretty close, but the first quarter lead was enough for Kuyper to earn an 18 point win. Kuyper was very balanced in this game, as they had 7 players score 7 points or more.
Brynne Johnson led the way with 13 points.
Couper Agema neared a double-double with 9 points and 8 rebounds.
Abigail Rivera-Sosa and
Aniya Fisher each scored 9 points for Kuyper as well.
Laia Vidaller added 8 points for Kuyper.
Jakya Rimpson and
Zyona Talley each scored 7 points for Kuyper.
Zyona Talley grabbed 8 rebounds to go along with her 7 points.Â
Kuyper moves to 4-7 on the year with the win. They will travel to Madonna University on Saturday for a 1:00pm ET game.Â
