The Developmental - Black team ended their season with a win over Kuyper Gold in the consolation round of the 2024 Cougar Classic JV Tournament. The matchup featured two Kuyper teams for the first time this season, and Developmental - Black got the win over KC Gold by a score of 54-38. The Cougars got out to an early lead, and they were able to hold the lead, despite a few nice runs from the KC Gold team. 

Kuyper was led in scoring by Ashtyn Simerson, who finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. He made 3 threes on the day. Gregory Thomas III added 10 points for the Cougars. Brady Thompson led the Cougars with 8 rebounds. Dior Partee added an efficient 9 points on 3-4 shooting from three. 

Gregory Thomas III was named to the 2024 Cougar Classic All-Tournament team, as he had an excellent tournament on both ends of the floor. 

For the KC Gold team, Nate Liberty finished with a career-high 5 points on the day. Liberty provided a nice spark off the bench for the KC Gold team in the first half. 

Kuyper Developmental - Black's season has now concluded, and the season record ended up being 5-16 for the Cougars. Stay tuned for a season recap article for the Developmental - Black team.
