Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball Drops Close One With Trinity Bible

The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team lost to Trinity Bible College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 83-76. This was the third and final game of the Cougars' season-opening road trip to Minnesota. The Cougars defeated Free Lutheran Bible College and Oak Hills Christian College to begin the trip, but they were unable to secure the win over Trinity Bible.

The game was back and forth, with each team going on runs of their own. The Cougars led 41-35 at the halftime break, but a big second half for the Lions led them to a victory. In the second half, the Lions shot a scorching 59.38% from the field and 58.33% from three. Kuyper's offense stalled in the second half, and they were unable to keep up with the Lions' high-powered offense.

Sam Dillard led the way for the Cougars with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Elijah Searcy added 17 points to the Cougars' effort. Joe Iung logged his first double-double at Kuyper, as he finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds. He was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line.

The Cougars move to 2-1 on the year, and 1-1 in the NCCAA II. The Cougars travel to Marion, Indiana on Tuesday to take on Indiana Wesleyan University in an exhibition. The game will tip off at 6:00pm ET.
