Kuyper College JV - Purple hosted Grace College on Thursday evening for the Cougars' home opener. Kuyper fell to Grace by a final score of 70-49. 

The first half was a competivive, defensive battle. Both teams went back and forth, eventually going into the halftime break tied at 24. However, Grace's offense heated up in the second half, while Kuyper's did not, leading to the Lancers' win. 

Turnovers were common in this one, as Grace logged 23 turnovers, to Kuyper's 27. Kuyper shot just 2-26 (7.7%) from three. Between the turnovers and poor outside shooting, Kuyper was not able to keep up with Grace in the second half. 

Damon Jackson led the Cougars with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Matt Ritter scored 8 points. 

The Cougars drop to 0-3 on the year with the home loss.
