TJ VanSlooten Named Men's Soccer Assistant Coach

The Kuyper College Men's Soccer program is excited to announce the addition of TJ VanSlooten to the coaching staff. VanSlooten is from Grand Rapids, MI, and has a wealth of experience both as a coach and as a player. He will prove to be an excellent addition to Kuyper's Men's Soccer program.

VanSlooten had an illustrious playing career. He played his high school soccer at Northview High School, where he led the Wildcats to a State Championship in 2010. He was also named an All-American in 2010. He was also a 3x All-Conference player at Northview, as well as a 2x All-State player. He played his club soccer with the Michigan Wolves and PASS FC. He won a National Chapionship with the Michigan Wolves.

After his impressive high school and club playing career, TJ went on to play at the University of Michigan. He played in 57 games over the course of his collegiate career. He was named College Sports Madness Preseason Second Team in 2014. 

Since his college career has been complete, VanSlooten has taken his knowledge of the game to the sidelines, where he has been coaching at multiple spots. VanSlooten is a Director of Coaching at PASS FC. He also has coached as the Head Coach of the Michigan ODP 2010B State Team. Additionally, VanSlooten has coaching stops at Northview High School as the Head Coach, Grand Rapids SC Men's Semi-Pro as an Assistant Coach, and PASS 2006 as the Head Coach. He won the National League Championship for the Second Divsion twice with the PASS 2006 Boys. 

VanSlooten provides a great deal of experience both as a player and a coach, which will greatly impact the Kuyper program. VanSlooten said of the coaching opportunity at Kuyper, "I am most excited about teh opportunity to work with student-athletes on their journeysto success and to help build a notable program at Kuyper College. I hope to be a helpful guide in their faith, their professional careers, and much more." 

VanSlooten and the Cougars will begin the 2026 campain in the upcoming fall.
