The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team lost on Friday evening to Grace Christian University by a score of 78-63 in the Regional Semifinals. The Cougars' season has come to an end, as they will not qualify for an at-large bid to the NCCAA II National Tournament in March.Â
The Cougars and the Tigers have matched up three times this season, with the Tigers taking all three. The Cougars and Tigers were back and forth early in the first half, but once Grace Christian went on a run in the middle of the first half, they never looked back. Kuyper continued to compete and keep the game within reach for much of the second half, but the game never got back to within a couple of possessions. Grace Christian out-rebounded the Cougars 45-37, which was the story in their previous match up as well. Kuyper really struggled to succeed on the offensive end of the floor, as they shot just 29.4% from the field in the first half and 38.8% for the game.Â
Kuyper was led in scoring by senior
Herman Brown, who finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Latrell Jennings added 13 points, while
Richard Major finished with 11 points.Â
The Cougars finish their season with a 13-15 record.Â
