The Kuyper College Women's Basketball team opened their road trip with a neutral site win over Central Christian College of the Bible. The Cougars defeated the Saints by a score of 48-42 on Friday afternoon. This game was the opening game for the Cougars of the Faith Classic in Ankeny, Iowa. This invitational includes one more game on Saturday at Faith Baptist Bible College. 

The Cougars were able to jump out to a 16-8 first quarter lead, and they were able to hold on for a narrow 6 point win. Aniya Fisher led the Cougars with another huge double-double, as she finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Abigail Rivera-Sosa added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the Cougars. Laia Vidaller hit 3 key 3s for Kuyper on the afternoon. 

Despite some sloppy play at times, Kuyper was pleased to sneak out with a W. Coach Mike Janikowski said "It was an ugly win, but a win none the less. I thought we battled to the very end and were able to close out the game! With a young group, that's all you can ask for, finding a way to win. Really proud of this group. We have another good fight tomorrow, and we will definitely bring more energy." 

Kuyper returns to action with the second game of their Faith Classic play, with a true road game at Faith Baptist Bible College. The game will tip-off at 3:00pm ET.
