The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team defeated Faith Baptist Bible College on Saturday evening by a score of 84-81. This was game two of the Faith Classic for the Cougars. This invitational takes place yearly on the campus of Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa.Â
Kuyper was led on Saturday by
Damion Cochran, who had 21 points (5-8 3pt), 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Danyel Bibbs was excellent in orchestrating the offense for Kuyper, as he had a double-double of 16 points and 11 assists. 11 assists is the tied for the third highest total that a Kuyper played has recorded in a game.
Herman Brown had 16 points and 8 rebounds, and
Elisha Searcy finished with 11 points (3-7 3pt).Â
The Cougars were able to earn the narrow win over Faith Baptist Bible due to their high-;level 3-point shooting. The Cougars shot 44% from 3 on the day.Â
Coach Gary Bailey said, "The kids continue to battle, even though we make a lot of errors. Most of it is just youth. These kinds of games are great for us, and we've been fortunate to leave with a win. We have to learn to clean up the small stuff."Â
The Cougars move to 4-2 on the season and 3-1 in the NCCAA II. They return to action with another trip out to Iowa to take on Faith Baptist Bible College on Friday, December 1st.Â
