The Kuyper College Men's Basketball game defeated Lake Michigan College tonight by a score of 91-86. The game was played at home for the Cougars, so they were able to protect home court.Â
Kuyper shot the ball well from all spots on the floor on Wednesday night, as they shot 50.0% from the field, 42.9% from three, and 81.8% from the free throw line. However, turnovers stifled the offense at time, as the Cougars finished with 22 turnovers. Most of those turnovers came in the second half, when the Red Hawks were able to pick up their ball pressure. Kuyper went into the halftime break up four, and were able to get the lead to 15+ in the second half. However, some hot shooting and stifling full-court pressure got the Red Hawks back in the game.Â
Danyel Bibbs,
Herman Brown, and
Elisha Searcy hit some key free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
Kuyper was led in scoring tonight by
Damion Cochran, who had 24 points and 5 assists.
Herman Brown had another impressive double-double, as he finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds. His hot shooting from behind the three point arc continued, as he shot 4-6 from three.
Elisha Searcy assed 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists for the Cougars.Â
The Cougars move to 7-3 on the season with tonight's win. Kuyper will host Moody Bible Institute on Saturday at 3:00pm.Â
