The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team defeated the Marantha Baptist University Sabercats on Saturday afternoon by a score of 87-58. This marks another NCCAA II win for the Cougars, as they are now 10-2 in the NCCAA II. Maranatha is part of the NCCAA II Midwest Region, as are the Cougars. Kuyper has now won 4 in a row.Â
Kuyper had the lead for much of the game on Saturday afternoon. The game was pretty back and forth early, and the Cougars went in to the half time break up 6. However, the Cougars were able to extend that lead to a comfortable one early in the second half, and they were able to secure the win.Â
Danyel Bibbs led the Cougars with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 0 turnovers. He scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half.
Jeremiah Jolliffi neared a double-double, as he finished with 13 points, 9 renounds, and 4 assists.
Elisha Searcy finished with 10 points and 5 steals.
Latrell Jennings added 7 points and 8 rebounds. All 14 Cougars were able to get in the game on Saturday, and 12 of them scored.Â
Kuyper moves to 12-4 on the season and 10-2 in the NCCAA. Kuyper hosts Great Lakes Christian College on Wednesday at 7:00pm for another huge NCCAA II Midwest showdown.Â
