The Kuyper College Volleyball program traveled across the country to the Phoenix, Arizona area for three matches this weekend. The Cougars will take on Arizona Christian University (NAIA), Justice College (NCCAA I), and West Coast Baptist College (NCCAA I). The Cougars took on Arizona Christian University on Friday afternoon, and they will take on Justice College and West Coast Baptist College in a tri-match on Saturday.Â
The Cougars lost their first match of their cross-country road trip to the Firestorm of Arizona Christian University. The Firestorm defeated the Cougars in three sets. Arizona Christian jumped out to early leads in all three sets, and they never looked back. Kuyper continued to compete hard, but they were unable to string together long rallies of points to narrow the deficit.
Addisyn Headworth led the Cougars in kills on the day, as she logged 4 kills.
Angelita Ledesma led with 7 assists.
Trina Nelson led Kuyper with 4 digs.Â
The Cougars move to 0-20 on the year with the loss. The team will get to spend some time enjoying the nice Arizona weather for the rest of their Friday, and then begin preparing for their tri-match with Justice College and West Coast Baptist College on Saturday.
Kuyper will take on Justice College at 12:00pm ET, and then they will take on West Coast Baptist College at 4:00pm.Â
