The Kuyper College Volleyball team hosted Great Lakes Christian College on Tuesday night for a NCCAA II Midwest Regional matchup. The Cougars and Crusaders played back in September, where the Crusaders won in three sets. The result was the same this time around, as the Cougars fell to the Crusaders in three sets.Â
Kuyper got a nice momentum boost from their home crowd, as well as some high-level plays on the floor. Kuyper was back and forth with Great Lakes Christian in a couple of the sets, but suffered a late run from the Crusaders to take control of those sets.
Kuyper got an impressive performance from
Addisyn Headworth, who finished the night with 10 kills. She also logged 5 digs to the Cougars' effort.
Angelita Ledesma had an impressive 12 assists for Kuyper, with 6 digs to go along with her assists. Freshman
Trina Nelson and
Lillie Golm added 8 digs and 6 digs, respectively.
Ariel Talsma finished the night with a career-high 4 kills. Talsma also tallied 2 block assists and one solo block.Â
Kuyper moves to 0-19 on the season, but the team is continuing to compete and develop. The team will travel to Arizona for three matches this weekend.Â
