The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team lost on Saturday afternoon to the University of Michigan-Dearborn. The final score was 74-67. This game capped off a 4-game week for the Cougars. Kuyper ends the week with an 0-4 record, and they will look to get on the winning track this week.Â
Kuyper and Dearborn played a competitive, back-and-forth game on Saturday, but the Cougars were unable to secure the victory down the stretch. Kuyper went into the halftime break with a 5-point lead, as they led 28-23. Kuyper was able to limit UM-Dearborn to just 20% from the field (8-40) and 13.6% from three (3-22) in the first half. Despite the defensive performance, Kuyper only had a 5-point lead at the break because the Cougars struggled on offense in a similar manner. Unfortunately for the Cougars, Dearborn's offense was much better in the second half, and Kuyper's was not.Â
Kuyper finished the game shooting 44% from the field and just 18.2% from three. Dearborn outscored the Cougars 51-39 in the second half, leading to a 7-point win for Dearborn.Â
