The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team traveled to Hamilton, Ohio on Saturday for an afternoon match-up with Miami University Hamilton. The Cougars defeated the Harriers by a score of 68-63. The Cougars led this one for much of the game, but it was by a small margin. There were a few lead changes early in the game, but Kuyper went into the halftime break up 32-28. Immediately out of the half, Kuyper jumped their lead to double-digits, but the Harriers continued to compete and keep the game within reach. The Harriers had a late push in the second half, but a couple big threes from senior
Herman Brown were able to hold off the Harriers' and their momentum.Â
Kuyper's defense was a positive in this one, as they held Miami Hamilton to just 41.1% from the field and 28.0% from three. Kuyper also forced 15 turnovers.Â
The Cougars were led in scoring by
Herman Brown, who finished with 15 points on 5-11 shooting from three. Brown hit a couple huge threes down the stretch to secure the win for Kuyper.
Elisha Searcy added 13 points and 4 rebounds for the Cougars, while
Danyel Bibbs added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists. Kuyper also got solid contributions from
Damion Cochran and
Austin Stone.Â
Kuyper moves to 4-7 on the year with a win, and they will travel back to Ohio on Tuesday to take on Ohio Christian University.Â
