The Kuyper College Women's Basketball team is taking home the Cross Cup trophy, as the Cougars defeated the Tigers of Grace Christian University on Thursday night by a score of 81-50. The Cougars and the Tigers, a rivaly of cross-town institutions, played on Thursday for the Cross Cup trophy. This trophy has traded hands between Grace Christian and Kuyper during the 2007-2015 stretch where these institutions played each year. The tradition continued on Thursday night. 

Kuyper ran out to an early lead and never looked back in this one. The Cougars were led by Jakya Rimpson, who finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Shonyah Hawkins added 19 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals. Aniya Fisher added 13 points. Maria Sobany finished the night with 10 points. The Cougars got nice performances from Abigail Rivera-Sosa and Couper Agema as well, as Rivera-Sosa finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds and Agema finished with 8 points.

The Cougars improve on a school-record for wins on a season, as they are now 15-9 on the year and 12-4 in the NCCAA II. Kuyper's regular season concluded tonight, and they will look to win the NCCAA II Midwest Regional Tournament at Grace Christian University beginning on February 29th.
