The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team closed out their regular season with a Regional win over Moody Bible Institute. The Cougars defeated the Archers on Saturday by a score of 79-35. With the win, the Cougars have tied a school-record for most wins in a season, with 20. The Cougars will look to break the record come the NCCAA II Midwest Regional Tournament at Grace Christian University on February 29th-March 2nd. The seeding for the Regional Tournament should be finalized soon.Â
The Cougars rushed out to an early lead against the Archers on Saturday, and they never looked back. Kuyper got a very balanced scoring effort this afternoon, and all 14 active Cougars got more than 10 minutes on the day.Â
Kuyper was led by
Danyel Bibbs, who finished with 11 points in just 13 minutes.
Damion Cochran also added 11 points on the afternoon.
Travis Jones had a career day on Saturday, as he logged his first career double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, both of which are career-highs.
Austin Stone and
Richard Major each finished with 8 points on the day, and Stone added 7 rebounds to his effort.Â
The Cougars improve to 20-8 on the year, and 16-5 in the NCCAA II. Now the Cougars turn to postseason play with the NCCAA II Midwest Regional Tournament. Stay tuned for more information regarding seeding and game times/matchups.
