Friday, December 2nd was a historic day for the Kuyper College Women's Basketball program, as the Kuyper women broke the school record for most wins in a season with their 86-48 win over Appalachian Bible College. The previous school record for the Women's Basketball program was 11 wins in a season, and that record was set by the 2010-2011 team. Friday night's win brought the Cougars win total to 12 on the year.Â
Kuyper broke the record in a convincing fashion on Friday night, as they ran out to a 32-5 first quarter league against the Warriors of Appalachian Bible. 32 points in a quarter is a season-high for Kuyper. The Cougars never looked back from the early lead.
Abigail Rivera-Sosa led the Cougars with a career-high 21 points. She shot an efficient 10-14 from the field.
Jakya Rimpson added 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 steals.
Couper Agema finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 steals.
Aniya Fisher added another double-double to her season log, as she closed the game with 12 points, 13 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 4 steals.Â
Kuyper improves to 12-8 on the year and 9-3 against NCCAA II programs. The Cougars will rematch the Warriors on Saturday at 11:00am ET.Â
