The Kuyper College Women's Basketball team defeated Mount Mary University (NCAA D3) on Wednesday evening 65-56. This makes back to back home wins for the Cougars, and they will look to extend that win streak to three games this Saturday when they take on Maranatha Baptist University.Â
The Cougars shot the ball at an extremely high level last night, leading to the win. Kuyper shot 10/21 (47.6%) from three. From the field, the Cougars shot 44.6%. Kuyper and Mount Mary played back and forth for a good portion of the first half, but a Kuyper flurry from three led the Cougars to a 26-13 first quarter lead. The following three quarters were all played very close, but the first quarter cushion helped lead Kuyper to victory.Â
Couper Agema led the Cougars in scoring with 18 points on 5/10 shooting from three.
Jakya Rimpson filled the stat sheet with 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Abigail Rivera-Sosa added a season-high 13 points. She also logged 6 rebounds on the evening.

Kuyper improves to 6-9 on the season with the win. Kuyper takes on NCCAA Midwest Regional opponent, Maranatha Baptist University, at 1:00pm ET. The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team will take on Maranatha Baptist University as well after the Women's game.Â
