The Kuyper College Women's Basketball team is on a three game win streak, as they defeated the Sabercats of Maranatha Baptist University on Saturday afternoon. The final score was 76-31. The Cougars and the Sabercats are both part of the NCCAA II Midwest Region, so this game had Regional Tournament seeding implications. The Cougars are now 3-0 against other Midwest Regional opponents.Â
The Cougars took a lead early in the game and never looked back. The Cougars played well on both ends of the floor. Defensively, they held Maranatha to 21.1% from the field and 0/12 from three. They also forced 24 Sabercats' turnovers. Offensively, Kuyper shot 41% from the field and 31.6% from three.Â
Kuyper was balanced in their scoring effort.
Laia Vidaller led the way with a career-high 19 points on 8/13 shooting from the field.
Brynne Johnson added 15 points and 7 rebounds to the Cougars' effort.
Couper Agema and
Maria Sobany each scored double digits as well.Â
Kuyper has now won three games in a row, marking their longest win streak of the season. Their record improves to 7-9, and they will take on Community Christian College on Saturday, January 25th at 12:00pm for their next outing.
