The Kuyper College Volleyball team lost two matches in Louisville, Kentucky this weekend, as they took on University of Cincinnati-Clermont and Boyce College. The Cougars competed in this tri-match at Boyce College, a fellow member of the NCCAA II.Â
Kuyper took on UC Clermont in the first match, where the Cougars lost in three sets. UC Clermont won each set by 8-9 points. Kuyper was led by
Rachel Romero, who logged 7 kills and 10 digs.
Aliyah Garner led the Cougars with 12 digs.
Trina Nelson added 9 digs.
Catherine Cone led the way with 8 assists.Â
In the second match, the Cougars lost to Boyce in four sets. Kuyper won the opening set of the match by a score of 25-17. The Bulldogs responded with two wins of their own, winning each set by 2-3 points. In the fourth set, Boyce defeated Kuyper 25-10 to secure the win.Â
Rachel Romero and
Aliyah Garner each logged 10 kills for Kuyper.
Trina Nelson led the way with 13 assists.
Rachel Romero had 16 digs, while
Aliyah Garner added 14 digs.
Brooke Moore also reached double-digits with 10 digs.
Catherine Cone added 5 aces to Kuyper's effort.
Kuyper drops to 3-18 on the year with the loss. The Cougars return to action on Thursday, where they will host Andrews University at 7:00pm.Â
