Box Score Kuyper College JV - Purple defeated Washtenaw County Community College on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 83-74. This is the first win of the ear for Kuyper JV - Purple, and they earned it at home at Boonstra Gymnasium.

The Cougars jumped out to a big lead early, as they were forcing turnovers, scoring in transition, and playing with high energy. At the half, the Cougars led 44-28. They went on to win by 9. 

The Cougars defense was stifling all afternoon. They forced 29 turnovers, which led to plenty of transition buckets for the Cougars. They limited Washtenaw County CC to 28.2% from the field and 29.4% from three.

Kuyper got multiple strong individual performances. Eight different players for Kuyper scored 5 points or more. Terrance Murphy filled the stat sheet, scoring 18 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and getting 7 steals. Garrett Brown was a spark off the bench for Kuyper, scoring 15 points and going 4-4 from three. Damon Jackson added 13 points. Matt Ritter scored 9 points, and Yonnie Solomon and Ryan Patterson each scored 8 points on the day. 

Kuyper improves to 1-7 on the season with the win.
