The Kuyper College Men's Basketball program is hitting the recruiting trail hard, and the program is excited to announce the signing of Marquis Clemons, a 6'2" guard from Sugar Land, Texas. Clemons graduated from Kempner High School. He is the son of Domanique Clemons adn Jessica Mcwashington. 

Clemons will be an instant impact player for the Cougars this season. He comes to Kuyper off of a great senior season in HS, where he shot 48% from the field (2nd on the team) and 42% from three (third on the team). He logged two double-doubles this past season as well. Clemons provides versatility for the Cougars, as he can play the guard position, as well as the forward positions. 

As a student, Clemons is a 4-term Honor Roll student. He earned the Kempner Integrity Award from Kempner HS for his high quality character. Additionally, Marquis was a four year BSU member and service leader during his HS tenure. 

In addition to his HS career, Clemons played AAU for the Houston Blazers. One highlight of his AAU career was earning First Team All-Tournament team for the Outback Classic, as he averaged 11 points and 9 rebounds. 

When asked about what excites him most about joining the Kuyper JV Basketball program, Clemons said, "First, I am excited to join a school with Christian values that mirror the things my family and parents taught me. Secondly, I am excited to continue playing basketball at the college level, as well as being able to continue to develop and grow as a player. Lastly, I am looking forward to living outside of Texas and experiencing something new in Michigan."
