The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team lost to Manhattan Christian College by a final score of 90-79 on Friday afternoon. This game was game two of the Faith Classic, a three-game invitational, for the Cougars. Manhattan Christian College made the NCCAA II Final Four last season, and they are playing at a high-level once again this season.Â
The game was back and forth to start, as Kuyper was able to keep the game in reach. At the half, Kuyper trailed 51-37, and they went on to lose 90-79.
Both teams played a clean game, as there was only 17 combined turnovers between the two teams. Kuyper struggled to slow down Manhattan's high-powered offense, as Manhattan shot 49.2% from the field and 54.2% from three. Kuyper shot 41.3% from the field and 31.3% from three. High-level free throw shooting helped keep the Cougars in the game, as they shot 12/14 (85.7%) from the line.Â
Austin Stone led the Cougars with another impressive outing. He finished the day with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Nick Moore added 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists to the Cougars' effort.
Jacob May also scored in double figures, as he finished the day with 13 points.
Jashaun Boggerty led the team with 11 rebounds.
Kuyper dropped to 4-5 on the season with the loss.
