Kuyper College JV Basketball has signed Samuel Tripp, a 6'1" guard from Galien, Michigan. Tripp is currently a senior at New Buffalo High School in southwest Michigan. Tripp is the son of Nathaniel and Kylie Tripp. Nathaniel Tripp is the Head Coach at New Buffalo High School. 

Tripp has had a successful career at New Buffalo HS through his junior season. He has won Defensive Player of the Year awards three times, while also leading the league in blocks. He helped lead New Buffalo to a 15-9 record last season, where they lost in the Regional Championship. He will look to lead them to another successful this season, as Samuel's senior year has just begun. Samuel played his AAU basketball with the Tropical and Camp Battleground.

Tripp takes care of business in the classroom as well. He has been named to the Honor Roll twice at New Buffalo. Additionally, he finished 5th in the state in the VFW Patriot's Pen Essay. 

When asked what makes Tripp most excited to become a Kuyper Cougar, he said, "I am excited for all the positive administration, getting my teaching degree, getting closer to God, and playing basketball."
