The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team defeated Maranatha Baptist University on Saturday evening by a score of 78-75. This was the second matchup of the year between the Cougars and the Sabercats. Kuyper defeated Maranatha at home back in mid January by a score of 102-70. Saturday's contest was a much closer game than the first meeting between these two teams, but Kuyper was able to complete their comeback and win the game.Â
The Sabercats had a great home environment, and they fed off that energy for much of the game. Maranatha had the momentum for a majority of the game, but Kuyper was able to respond down the stretch. Maranatha Baptist led by as much as 16 points in the second half.Â
Herman Brown, coming off of a monster 38 point, 14 rebound performance earlier this week, had another huge game for Kuyper. He finished with 20 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 3 steals.
Sam Dillard recorded another double-double, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds.Â
Kuyper moves to 10-12 on the year with the win, and they have now won back to back games. They will look to win a third consecutive game on Tuesday evening at 6:00pm, where they will host Moody Bible Institute.Â
