The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team defeated Moody Bible Institute on Tuesday evening by a score of 85-58. This was the third win in a row for the Cougars, as they defeated Andrews and Maranatha Baptist last week.Â
Kuyper and Moody played a pretty even game for the first part of the first half, but Kuyper finished the half on a nice run to take a 15 point lead into the break. Kuyper continued their momentum from the end of the first half into the second half and ended up with a comfortable win. Kuyper limited Moody to just 30.9% from the field and 17.9% from three. Kuyper had ten players get in the scoring column in the win.
Sam Dillard led the way with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. He shot an efficient 9-14 from the field.
Herman Brown added 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Travis Jones scored a career-high 11 points, to go along with his 5 rebounds.
Braden VanderMeer hit two threes and added 6 points for the Cougars as well.Â
Kuyper's third consecutive win moves their record to 11-12 on the year. The game vs. Great Lakes Christian College has been cancelled due to inclement weather, so the next game for the Cougars is a home game on Friday, February 14th. They will host Ohio Christian University at 3:30pm. The Cougars lost to the Trailblazers 90-83 back on December 10th.Â
