The Kuyper College Women's Basketball team hosted Ohio Christian University on Friday afternoon. The Cougars lost to the Trailblazers by a score of 62-39. Kuyper was competitive in the first quarter, as they got out to a quick lead, but Ohio Christian quickly responded. Once they responded, they held the lead for the remainder of the game.
Kuyper struggled on the offensive end of the floor in this one, which led to a comfortable Trailblazers' victory. Kuyper shot just 30.6% from the field, and they went 0-8 from three. Additionally, Kuyper committed 22 turnovers. Those offensive struggles were difficult for Kuyper to attempt to overcome.Â
Brynne Johnson led the Cougars with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
Abigail Rivera-Sosa added 6 points to the Cougars' effort.
Kuyper's record drops to 9-11 on the year with the home loss. On Wednesday, they will travel across town to take on rival Grace Christian University in a rematch. The Cougars won game one of the rivalry earlier in the season. The game will tip off at 7:00pm ET.Â
