The Kuyper College Women's Basketball is seeing their recruiting momentum continue, as they have recently signed Olivia McDavid as well. McDavid is a 5'6 guard from Detroit, Michigan. McDavid went to high school at Westfield Preparatory High School. After HS, she went to Jackson College, where she played two seasons at the collegiate level.
McDavid is a versatile player who competes at a high level, especially on the defensive end of the floor. During her career, she has won the Most Improved Player award, as well as a Ms. Lockdown award. At Jackson College, McDavid played 41 games in two seasons, while earning 15 career starts. She averaged 4.5 points per game over the course of those two seasons. McDavid helped lead Jackson to an impressive 24-7 record this past season, to go along with a District Championship appearance for the MJCAA Great Lakes District.
As a student, McDavid will study Business Administration at Kuyper, with a minor in Sports Management. She was a member of the prestigious National Honor Society in high school. She also was a member of the Books Before Ball program.
When asked about what makes her most excited about joining the Kuyper Women's Basketball program, she said, "What I'm most excited about is that the program is building something new, and it's been achieving goals with winning and improving. I want to do that for myself and belong on a team that is dedicated to that."
McDavid and the Cougars will begin official team practice in the fall. Congratulations to Olivia McDavid on signing on to become a Kuyper Cougar!
