The Kuyper College Volleyball program traveled to central Indiana this past weekend to compete in the Franklin College Invitational. The Cougars played four matches over the course of the weekend.Â
On Friday afternoon, the Cougars took on the host school, Franklin College. The Cougars lost to Franklin in three sets.
Aliyah Garner led Kuyper with 10 kills, while
Rachel Romero added 8 kills.
Catherine Cone led the way with 13 assists.Â
Later Friday night, the Cougars lost in three sets to Trine University. In that match, Romero and Garner led the Cougars with 5 kills each.
Brooke Moore added 12 digs to the Cougars' effort.Â
Then, the Cougars had two more matches on Saturday. In their first match, they had a rematch with Franklin College. The Cougars lost to Franklin in this match as well, but the Cougars did win a set in the rematch. Additionally, the Cougars forced a tough set to open the match, despite losing 26-24. Garner led the way in this match with 15 kills and 13 digs.
Rachel Romero added 10 kills and 12 digs.
Catherine Cone led the way with 26 assists, while also logging 10 digs.
Brooke Moore led the Cougars with 16 digs.Â
In the fourth match, the Cougars lost in three sets to Wilmington College. Garner led with 9 kills, while Cone added 17 assists. Moore led the team with 11 digs.Â
The Cougars move to 1-10 on the year. They are off this week from matches, but will return on Tuesday, Setpember 30th, where they travel to Lansing, MI to take on Great Lakes Christian College in an NCCAA II Midwest Region matchup.Â
