The Cougars played their second game of the their four game road trip at Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky. Similar to their Tuesday night game with Andrews, this was a rematch for the Cougars as well. Kuyper defeated Boyce 67-61 at home back in early January. This result was different, as Boyce defeated Kuyper in convincing fashion on Wednesday, 81-60. Similar to Tuesday's game with Andrews, Kuyper was competitive in the first half, but the second half went on to plague the Cougars.
Kuyper trailed 34-27 at the end of the first half, but the Bulldogs outscored the Cougars 47-33 in the second half to lead to the lopsided outcome. The rebounding battle was close in this one, as was the turnover battle. The difference was Boyce was able to flourish offensively, and Kuyper was not. Boyce shot an efficient 50% from the field and 41.7% from three on the evening, while Kuyper shot just 37.1% from the field. Kuyper shot the ball well from three, as they made 7 threes on 15 attempts (46.7%), but it was not enough to keep up with Boyce's offense in the second half.Â
Elijah Searcy led Kuyper with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Latrell Jennings added 11 points.
Antwann Woods gave Kuyper a spark off the bench with 7 points and 7 rebounds.Â
Kuyper fell to 10-14 on the year with the loss.
