Box Score The Kuyper College Men's Basketball program opened their season on the road on Thursday evening, as they took on Free Lutheran Bible College in Minnesota. The Cougars defeated the Conquerors in the season opener by a final score of 106-54.
The win was a historic one for the Cougars, as it earned Head Coach
Gary Bailey his 400th career win at the collegiate level. Bailey, who is now in his 20th season, has had a illustrious coaching career. Bailey began his collegeiate coaching career in 2006, where he led Grace Christian University to a National Championship. Bailey went on to win 6 total NCCAA II National Championships, all of which were done at Grace Christian University. He also finished #1 in the final poll in 2020, when COVID ended the season.
Coach Bailey is in his third season here at Kuyper, where 34 of his 400 career wins have come. Bailey is an NCCAA Hall of Famer. He has won 13 Regional Championships to go along with his 6 National Championships. He earned NCCAA National Coach of the Year honors in 2009 and 2010, as well as Regional Coach of the Year 10 times over the course of his 20 year career. See Coach Baileys entire resume

The Cougars defeated Free Lutheran Bible in convincing fashion on Thursday night. Kuyper jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. All 15 Cougars that dressed got minutes.
The Cougars move to 1-0 on the season, and they are right back in action on Friday evening. The Cougars will take on Oak Hills Christian College at 7:00pm ET.
