The Kuyper College Men's Soccer program has announced the hiring of
Jack Groeneveld to the program's staff. Groeneveld will serve the program as the Goalkeeper Coach. Jack is married to his wife, Alaina.
Jack grew up in Sydney, Australia. He lived in the suburb of Prospect in Sydney. He attended high school at Patrician Brothers Blacktown. After this, he began playing college soccer at Western Sydney University. In 2020, Groeneveld moved to America and signed to play soccer at Notre Dame College, an NCAA Division II institution in the Cleveland, Ohio area. He played three seasons of collegiate soccer at Notre Dame College, where he logged 3 starts and appeared in 7 matches. He helped lead Notre Dame to the NCAA II National Tournament once in his three year tenure.
Jack has been around high-level soccer clubs, organizations, players, and coaches over the course of his career. He has played semi-professional and professionally with clubs such as the Marconi Stallions, the Western Sydney Wanderers, and the Mounties Wanderers. He has also been coached and trained with those who were and currently are part of the Australian National Team.
Jack will bring valuable experience and high-level knowledge and expertise to the Cougar Men's Soccer program. When asked about the opportunity to join Kuyper's staff, Groeneveld said, "What makes me most excited to join the Kuyper College Men's Soccer program is the opportunity to develop, not only young footballers, but young men. Looking back, football not has been a physical outlet, but it has also provided me with essential life skills that made me into who I am today. My best coaches made it evident that they weren't just coaching football, but also how to win at life. It is because of them that I want to do the same thing and help not only develop footballers at Kuyper College, but also help develop successful and genuine people too."
Groeneveld and the Cougars begin official practice in early August. Their season opens on the road on August 23rd, with a road match with Muskegon Community College.
