The Kuyper College Men's Soccer program has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the remainder of the 2025 season. This decision comes after a series of unfortunate, season-ending injuries that have left the program with only 10 healthy players—too few to continue competition safely and responsibly.
Head Coach Salvation Nkiko and his staff worked tirelessly to prepare a full roster of 16 players for the season. Despite their efforts and determination, the team was struck hard by injuries during preseason, training, and the opening matches. Out of respect for our athletes' health and the integrity of the program, the Kuyper College Athletic Department has chosen to suspend competition until the 2026 season.
During this time, the 2025 squad will remain active. Under Coach Nkiko's leadership, players will continue workouts, trainings, and team-building activities, ensuring that growth and development remain at the forefront. Importantly, none of the players will lose a year of eligibility, as only two matches were played.
Though this is a challenging moment, it is not the end of Kuyper Soccer. Coach Nkiko and his staff are already laying the foundation for a stronger, deeper roster in 2026. The program's future is bright, and we are eager to welcome new athletes into this next chapter.
