The Cougars JV Basketball program has signed Deontae Macey to join the program for second semester. Macey is a 6'4" guard from Lansing, Michigan. Macey attended East Lansing High School, a perennial powerhouse program on the Michigan HS Basketball scene.

After high school, Macey attended Rome City Institute in Italy, where he played one season. Macey averaged 17.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He logged multiple 30 point games during his stint at Rome City Institute. During his high school career, Macey earned a spot in the Top 150 on PrepHoops. 

Macey played for multiple aau programs throughout his career, playing on a few different AAU circuits. 

As a student, Macey graduated from East Lansing with a 3.88 GPA and earned Magna Cum Laude. He was on the honor roll each of his four years at East Lansing HS. He was also 2x Academic All-Conference and 3x Student-Athlete of the Month in high school. 

Macey was asked about what excites him most about the opportunity to continue his playing career here at Kuyper. Macey said, "What makes me the most excited to join the MBB program at Kuyper College is the fact that I will be able to meet new people and palyers, strengthen my faith, and being able to feel at home in an amazing community." 

Macey will join the JV - Purple team this semester. JV - Purple hosts Community Christian College at 3:00pm on Tuesday, January 6th.
