The Kuyper College Developmental Basketball program has signed their first recruit of the 2024 class as Ryan Patterson has signed with the Cougars. Patterson is a 6'7 center from Charlton Heston Academy of Richfield Township. Patterson is the son of Dawn and Bill Patterson. The senior is currently averaging a monstrous 24.5 points per game, coupled with 12 rebounds per game. 

Ryan comes to Kuyper with an impressive high school basketball resume. Patterson played Varsity as a sophomore, where he averaged 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. The following season, Ryan averaged a double-double, as his final averages were 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks. During his junior year, Patterson was an anchor to one of the top defenses in the state, as his team limited their opposition to 31.7 points per game, which was good for 3rd in the state. As previously stated, the 6'7 center is averaging 24.5 points and 12 rebounds per game as a senior. His most points in a game so far this year is 32, and his most rebounds in a game is 16. 

Ryan was named second-team All-Conference as a junior. All-Conference recognition has not been awarded at this point this season. Additionally, he was first-team All-Conference in Track and Field, as he throws shot putt. 

Not only has Patterson been putting up huge numbers, but he has contributed to a historic amount of team success for Charlton Heston Academy. Over the course of the past 4 seasons, they have broken the school record for wins in a season each year. 

Patterson brings some great size and scoring ability to the Kuyper College Developmental Basketball program. Head Coach Tyler Whitcomb is very excited about the addition of Ryan to his program. When asked about the signing, Coach Whitcomb said, "We are thrilled to welcome Ryan Patterson to our basketball team next year! His size, strength, and touch around the rim will elevate our game. His strong roots in a great community and family, coupled with his stellar academics and work ethic will make him a valuable addition to our program." 

Patterson is a 3.2 GPA student at Charlton Heston Academy. He plans to study Business at Kuyper College.
