The Kuyper College Men's Basketball program has continued their success on the recruiting trail this offseason, as Head Coach
Gary Bailey has announced the addition of Clem Butler Jr. to the Cougars MBB program. Butler Jr. is a 7'0 forward from Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a transfer from Wittenberg University, a NCAA Division III institution in Springfield, Ohio. Butler Jr. redshirted this past year, so he comes to Kuyper with four full seasons of eligibility. He attended George Washington High School in Indianapolis prior to attending Wittenberg. Clem is the son of Clem and Nichelle Butler.
Butler Jr. is a great addition to the Cougars program, as he brings great size, rim protection, and post play to the Cougars lineup. Butler Jr. led the city in rebounds and blocks in his senior year at George Washington HS. He also helped lead them to a Sectional Championship in 2024.
As a student, Butler Jr. intends to study Sports Management at Kuyper. During his time at George Washington HS, Clem was a spokesperson for the district, where he fought for change to improve academic performance.
Butler Jr. is excited about the opportunity of joining the Cougars. When asked about it, Clem said, "I am excited to be able to have a genuine and great college athlete experience at a school that can push me to exceed my fullest potential."
Head Coach
Gary Bailey said of the addition of Clem, "We are really happy to have Clem and his family joining us at Kuyper College. Clem is going to give us some much-needed help in the post in the future. He has grat agility for his size, and he will be a great teammate."
The Cougars begin official practice in late September.
Congratulations to Clem Butler Jr. on signing on to become a Kuyper Cougar!
