The Kuyper College Men's Basketball team has their eyes set on postseason play. The Cougars wrapped up their 2025-2026 regular season campaign on February 14th, and now, the Cougars look to extend their season one game at a time in the postseason. Kuyper finished their regular season with an 11-15 record. Of their 26 games, the Cougars finished 9-6 in the NCCAA II.
The Midwest Regional Tournament bracket is set, and the Cougars are the #3 seed. There are six members of the NCCAA II Midwest Region: Emmaus University, Grace Christian University, Great Lakes Christian College, Kuyper College, Maranatha Baptist University, and Moody Bible Institute. The tournament is being hosted at Emmaus University in Dubuque, Iowa.
Kuyper enters the tournament having played 6 games against fellow NCCAA II Midwest Region members. The Cougars are 4-2 in those games. They will look to improve that record on Thursday, February 26th, where they will take on the #6 seed, Moody Bible Institute. Kuyper is 2-0 against Moody Bible this season.
The seeding for the tournament is based on NCCAA II Power Ratings, which analytically compute each team's entire schedule. The seeding for the tournament is as follows:
#1 - Great Lakes Christian College
#2 - Grace Christian University
#3 - Kuyper College
#4 - Emmaus University
#5 - Maranatha Baptist University
#6 - Moody Bible Institute
The tournament opens on Thursday with Kuyper's match-up with Moody Bible. The following game will be between Emmaus University and Maranatha Baptist University. The winners of each game will advance to the Regional Semifinals. If Kuyper is able to advance past the Opening Round, they would take on rival Grace Christian University on Friday at 8:00pm ET. If the Cougars are able to win there, they would advance to the Regional Championship, which would tip off at 4:00pm ET on Saturday.
The winner of the Regional Tournament earns an automatic bid to the NCCAA II National Tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The National Tournament is a ten team field, and it begins March 11th. Kuyper will need to win the school's first-ever Regional Championship in order to earn a trip to Nationals.
